They are not any further ahead than they were the night it happened. Stoolies and druggies know but the cops dont. I think we might go back some years and go beyond the last three murders

Dunham.. No conviction because an officer lied during his testimony
The woman a psyc center.. No mureder charg.. Two involved one got about seven years for manslaghter and the other walked because of police incompetance.
This is why all the skum is coming here...
Drugs running rampart.. All our local dealers are protected by police and thats no bull shit. Outside dealers move in and they are arrested withing weeks. Why?
Weve had local dealers arrested seeveral times released and before they get sentenced they are arrested again and nothing is done time and time again.Why?
I have no suggestions but I hope someone does.. Ive read about a volunteer force to assist the cops but no one has put that thought in motion. Apparently no one at city hall thinks it has any merit
It will be another two hundred thousand.. All because of incompetance on the officers, the last DA now this DA and a whole lot of people who cant tell the truth..
What do you expect.. Cops lied throughout his one and it will end in a hung jury again.
Why is this deplorable situation in Ogdensburg Tolerated ?
Why is incompetence protected ?\
Why aren't murder cases Solved?
What is WRONG with a citizenry that ACCEPTS this as being OK ?
When will Ogdensburg's leaders in the Council RISE to the occasion , Take Action and Demand that the police actually SOLVE these cases ?
This is all reflective of a disengaged citizenry who accepts decline and mediocrity and accepts the fact the our local politicians are NOT up to the task and that our City government is NOT up to the task and that the city is the disgrace of St Lawrence county.
Ogdensburg is a mess -- it's time to raise a stink and put a fire under the deadwood that is supposed to lead
Its all about the disipline of the OPD. Its all about years of no disipline and not caring and treating this job like OH WELL.
Is there a dress code for the PD. Look at McCarthy.. Reminds me of the movie Cerpico.. He works undercover is the excuse.. Who in the city dosnt know him.. I say start with the basics.. Disipline, promptness, public opinion weighted once in a while. Merit of the job you do.. Anyone not producing warned once then acted on. Leaders must demand respect instead of the good ole boy system that exists now... That would be a good start and that could start with the City manager giving those directions to the chief.
Again implimentation of a volunteer force could be an answer if handled correctly. You dont ask the cops if they want it its upo to the manager to ask the councilors. They should set the guidelines for something like this and possibly some input from the cops not direction from the cops. Neighborhood watches dont work period.
Other towns and cities in this country do this and welcome it and it works without taxpayer burden..
Looking For: Drug Dealers to move into Ogdensburg. Low conviction, assistance from OPD, DA office that plea bargins every charge, and Judicail Diverson for all that apply.
Ever wonder why we pay taxes for a police force. Ogdensburg, Canton,Potsdam, Massena Norwood, Gouverneur all have police forces. These municipalites pay taxes for these forces. then we pay taxes again for a Sheriffs Patrol.. I say review eliminating one or the other.. Why should we pay taxes to give Russell Edwards Star Lake Winthrop etc extra police protection..
yet another prime example of redundancy in government and don't forget the State police , Border Patrol, EnvironmentAL cOPS AND OF COURSE suny SECURITY AND cLARKSON ANS slu SECURITY -- AND STILL NO MURDERS ARE SOLVED >
i AGREE CONSOLIDATION OF POLICE AGENCIES IS long OVERDUE
What would be nice start is a volunteer fire department in Ogdensburg. We could just have payed drivers, most of their calls are medical. I can not remember the last big fire or last save most buildings are burnt to the ground.
