| New Councilors Take Office |
The time has come to anoint our new council members. The new year starts Sunday, which will mark their first official day of duty. I hope they will bring the City Manager's fiasco to an end, then move on to current City business.

| Property Pride? |
According to the Code Enforcement Office, the City has had less code violations complaints from the prior year. Mr. Mallette hopes people are taking pride in their property but the reality is there were only 13 less complaints or about 3% difference from last year...that is modest! I know one of the biggest violators in the area went to jail 9 months ago, that made a difference.
It appears the Journal is looking to put a positive spin on a few things in the City. We all knows the River City needs a different spin. Hopefully the Council can do this. Good Luck!!!!!

Its in the paper today that Morley and Nelson favor town hall meetings.. Thats a positive step forward as long as the meetings are still on video like any regular meeting. These two have to be on record when asked questions. Over the past few years Nelson has a way (not to recall things that way) to forget what he said to someone.. I still favor open meetings where the public can ask questions to the mayor or specific councilors in favor of a five minute statement section where no one responds to the taxpayer.
Only time will tell how the rest of the council reacts to this type of meeting but I feel its best for all.
Lets give Mr. Sciorra what we rightfully owe him and move on and let this political agenda die.
Journal and a different spin.. I doubt it.. Johnson News employees do what their told when their told and for as long as their told.. I see nothing different in our future through Johnson News.. Why did they move to Massena with that new facility??? Remember Johnson news it bleeds Republican so we never get an unbiased report on anythign political. The next big thing will to see if they continue to hide things for Mr Nelson such as the true reason Arts being fired.
Nothing will change , the council has not been significantly improved and has probably been well coached by party bosses and will be pushed to advance the PARTY agenda NOT the citizen's -- Prove me wrong Council -- stand up to this mayor , hold everyone ACCOUNTABLE , demand TRANSPARENCY, and Do NOT accept the PARTY LINE .
Not being naive or one who puts much faith in our local media as far as objectivity --Until i see those changes in local government i am skeptical about ANY change being made for the positive !

Is she full time? Does she have any trainig for journalism? After the Wades said Sciorra lied because he wouldn't be unethical and move the grant boundaries for them, Morley and Nelson picked up on it, and started saying in interviews that Sciorra lied over and over again. Then Christopher Robbins started putting in his articles over and over again that Sciorra lied like it was a fact. That's what editors are for, to check the facts, and bring some professionaliasm to the newspaper. Hitler said, " If you repeat the same thing 1.000 times the simple people will believe it". It worked for Nazi Germany, and it is working in Ogdensburg right now. Is this Lyons person related to Morley or Nelson? What's her agenda if she allowed that kind of journalism to go on?
Johnson News is going to be the big launch pad for Nelsons future political agenda. They print what he wants them to.

Beth Lyons is the problem. Chris Robbins and all of the other reporters have to make an article get past her. They all hate her and their jobs although they would be fired if she could prove anyone of them said that. She lives in denial and is totally without any moral character. She wants to be the next Chuck Kelly but if she realized what damage he has done to this city she would reconsider. Why can't they just report the news, what do they have to gain??????
Selling their souls and ruining the lives of others to sell newspapers.......Chuck Kelly did a lot of damage to the 'Burg with Urban Renewal in the 60s. He helped the Hacketts, among others, to tear down the downtown of the River City to make it the Armpit of St. Lawrence County. He is in complete denial. He can't remember hurting anybody or anything. Maybe the city council should name the corner of State and Ford "Kelly's Corner" so everyone can remember and "comment" forever on how he ruined the beautiful old downtown of the only American port city on the St. Lawrence River.

Ahhh..But there's hope. The Young Professionals Association led by Liz Lyons, Chris Robbins, and Justin Woods WAS taking over. But now Justin Woods, who was giving out all that federal money, is gone. So, who will fund Billy Hosmer's latest projects, and funnel real estate deals to Jennifer Stevenson? The bad news is Sciorra was the only one smart enough to hold him them at bay. Who will be the White Knight of Ogdensburg now that Sciorra is gone? Hey! How about Wayne Ashley? Retired cop, HE can see wrong doing and stop it, right? Or maybe he can't. Afterall, He looked at the evidence put together by Gebo, and voted to fire Sciorra even though he wasn't innocent of any wrongdoing. Kelly's Corner or Albert's Armpit, it doesn't matter what this place is called. As Ross Perot used to say, "Do you hear the huge sucking Sound?" Well, in our case, it's O'Burg being flushed down the tubes by The Young Professionals Association.
We dont have a chance in hell to get anyone real good for a city manager. Nelson ambition will prevent this.
As far a the news paper what I know of this Lyons is in line with being said above.. She shapes these stories in the fashion she wants with no pity for what she is doing..
A man that has done Ogdensburg countless good is being screwed by a phony politican and his grunt and a couple of devious citizens that couldnt get him to do anything unethical.
I am very sure the Wades will have to appear in court at some point and testify under oath to their part in this...

Wait a minute!!1 Are you saying Wayne "The Sleuth" Ashley doesn't have a mind? Come on, he looked at all the evidence in the Sciorra case, disregarded it, and then did what Master Mind Morley told him to do. He's not going to take on Nelson, Morley, Robbins, Lyons and THE Journal. He saw what THEY DID to Sciorra, Skamperle, and Vaugh, and decided not to be a "stand up guy". Are you surprised? The First question someone should ask our dispicable city leaders in 2012 is: Which city counselor used an EBT card to purchase food for their family's christmas dinner?
Electronic Benifits Cards (EBT) usage is quite common today for unemployment, disability, food stamps, welfare etc etc..
If someone on the council used one to purchase something its not a crime unless its someone elses. But one could wonder who would do this..

Without his badge Wayne won't "man up" about anything. Some folks were hoping he would step up, and help get a compromise for the mess Nelson and Morley created for Sciorra. But sadly, he is just another CS Political Hack without the backbone to take on even weaklings like Nelson and Morley. Sad, because he was a pretty good cop, and was good at making decisions to get hostle situations back to neutral. I don't know Hosmer that well. So, the only new councillor to show some gumption might be Stevevson. After all, there had be a reason Nelson and Morley didn't even invite her to the meeting where they "stacked" the council to fire Sciorra before Christmas. It drives me crazy to see Ogdensburg being trashed, and my tax money being wasted on this thing. I know almost all of the councillors have been in unions or worked under contracts. They know how these agreements work, and Sciorra will be paid. Why couldn't they just follow Sciorra's contract, and terminate him? Why take this vindictive mean spirited route? Can anyone on the city council say Sciorra wanted to go through all of this humiliation and hatred to be fired, and collect a severance? COME ON!!! By taking this route, they are only pleasing revengeful people like the Wades, and helping The Journal sell papers. That's why Nelson and Morley got all of the interviews. It was great for their egos to see their names in print everyday, but they were not smart enough to realize they were just being used. And at our expense . The Journal got this thing whipped up, and doesn't want it to end. And don't expect the lawyers to help them to compromise and settle. They will get their $$$$ first. We should be asking the city council, or better yet, Acting City Manager and financial genius Cosmo for an up-to-date accounting of attorneys fees at every council meeting. Maybe he will finally start doing his job, and collecting money from the Burke's to help pay for this mess. Too bad he didn't do it in the first place. We have to ask The council for an accounting because the only one we can currently count on is Skamperle. So far he is the only one on the city council who might care. Heck it's not their money!!!

Boy Oh Boy!!!.It took 23 minutes for you guys to forget about lawyers fees, and "start" on each other!!!. No wonder Morley and Nelson are getting their way. Maybe you will wake up when you get your next city tax bill, and realize the mayor and wannabe mayor have needlessly spent the city's savings on lawyers fees so they could be big deals and get endorsed by The Ogdensburg Journal.
Maybe we should ask Nelson and Morely to pay for their own Lawyers and see what happens.
