Another fine job by the school board. Hey Fred. I agree with you. It is real hard to live on $116,000. per year hear in Ogdensburg. We need to keep raiseing salaries so we can raise taxes. Times are not tough we have unlimited money to pay the big dogs. You should run for city council Fred. Sorry. I forgot you are already running for city council. (Wayne)
I just do not understand this mentality. It is true, everyone is struggling to keep their jobs, raises are not even a consideration, but administrators and teachers are excluded. How long can they hide behide a failing school system, using kids as a shield to justify their actions.
Actually, I should applaud the Union for pulling the wool over the school board's eyes. If I was a teacher these are the benefits of their dues and the school board inability to do their job.
When does it end? When we rank last in the world in education and no kid is left behind.
This board is much like the city council . They have no perspective of just how fed up taxpayers are with the school system and the excess and waste .
.IF those who worked IN THE SYSTEM were unable to vote , the school budget would NEVER pass .
The 57 million dollar boondoggle that was basically shoved down our throats by "insider" voters ( family working in the system) is incredulous given the serious decline in enrollment.
The board cannot self regulate they are not objective and represent the insider vested interest factions for the most part . ITS NOT ABOUT the KIDS at all.
I am amazed that the school board members who have spouses and family WORKING IN THE SCHOOL SYSTEM are ALLOWED to VOTE on any raises or contracts .
IN MOST BOARDS this might BE CONSIDERED A CONFLICT OF INTEREST

WHO gets the best BENEFITS in the WORLD ? Not the Children - the Teachers -and their families.

works around only 180 days a year!

With decreasing enrollment every year - The School Expands in size, Hires More,Raises Salaries, Encrease Benefitsand it costs more to operate! Excellent formula for What?
Who pay's out the biggest sum of tax money in SLC in to Maintain , Repair, & Staff this School. US
SEE what's been goin on for 40 plus years!! Again as in City Hall - we voted wrong! WONDER WHY OGDENSBURG IS EXPENSIVE and ZERO GROWTH!
VOTE for RIGHT PEOPLE - its a conservative budget for the next 10 years or shut up and PAY !!!!VOTE RESPONSIBLY OR LOSE!!

We were bitching that a councilman get a $1000.00 a year raise!
One of these guys get a raise and bonus that covers all the Council plus benefits in one year!

This makes Uncle Art's $100K salary look like a steal!!!
Wake up taxpayers. The reason you pay such high taxes is that teachers vote. Teachers vote for who they want on the school board( retired teachers-spouses who work for the school district-board members who play with other board members on district trips-Guess who that is)So in the end taxpayers pay and pay for teachers salary and benefits. Remember if the teachers do not get what they want the children will suffer.

The Board is NOT representing the taxpayer at all by its actions . The education lobby is one of the most aggressive and self serving lobbies in NYS .
It has never been about improving anything but their fat cat salaries and benefits. Check the pensions these people get for doing the same thing day after day for 35 plus yrs
