Journal:Capacity Crowd Hears Woods' Address

Hopefully, this turnout sent a message to City Council!
The voters are out
They are engaged
They want action
And they will be voting
Councilor Sholette, Vaugh, and Skamperle are not listening to the demands of the voters. Two of these councilors will be gone next year so they can continue to play political games.

Vaugh was and is a Joke to sit there at a meeting and read a resolution to sanction his partys mayor and deputy is beyond belief. His loyalty to Art Scorria is a slap in the taxpayers of Ogdensburgs face.Even more disgusting is Skamperles having his back! With friends like that WOW -he will never have the taxpayers interestat heart. Zero representation from those two IDIOTS! Sorry Sholette had to play politics on his final day - he did have good sence until jointing up up those two scumb bags.

So Now will the City Manager Resign? I think not - this guy has no Shame? Silvers investigation will be done Friday - can they at least get together to fire him . The evidence is in on the Publics View' - Mayors View - and more than 4 counclors. CLEAN THI MESS UP!!!!

The voters want Sciorras job and thats that.
Howerer one must remember this. The manager runs the city. The manager runs the city in the manner approved by council. Art has been running the city in a way consistant with Bill Nelsons desires.
Nelson has backed Art every move for every year hes been here along with his amigos Vaugh and Powers always voting in unison. No cmplaints until an outside the circle canidate got asked some hard questions.
Nelson has sat and postured for the last five or six years. Posing for every camera shot available to him.. This year is different, its an election year.. Still no noise because theres no opposition..
Along came an interested caniate in Jack McGrath and the noise starts. Nelson has been out of touch with the voters for years so hes out door to door posing some for them and finds out the mood the taxpayers are in..
In a dramatic announcement he asks for the manager to resign.. Wow,, it has vote for me written all over it..Nelson is playing politics plain and imple..One month acting like a mayor in four years gets you re-elected.. I hope not..
The politics are really dramatic in town right now... Remember the manager must go it is public will. Just remember to get rid ofthe person responsible for the managers actions, Bill Nelson and vote fora change in November

The sad thing is that Sciorra hasn't done too bad of a job, its just that he is dishonest, rude and out of touch with Ogdensburg.

Who can deny that we've seen improvement under his policies? Justin Woods also brought a lot of money, progress and improvement into our city.

The real failures here sit on the city council. Skamperle, Powers, Nelson and Cilley might be good politicians but they suck at governance. We need more people like Morley and Sholette - who might not alway hold the best positions, but know how to make an argument, stick to principles and get things done.

Skamp and the mayor in particular have flip-flopped so much over the past months that I'm not sure they stand for anything anymore.

M. Dolengy you pretty well got it all together. ( Nelson was sleeping) This city Manager has to go at ALL COST and ASAP. The problem of politics is I say to "hell with either side." This MANAGER is also playing politics and may survive - I want him gone. Personally this manager can do more Damage to peoples lives, put neighbor against neighbor, citizens against citizens - workers against workers - he is a disfunctional person. Scorria is All for himself and blames everyone but himself!! Voters will take care of the rest of the trash! Thank You for solid imput!

Chuck said...

Rosie, you sure changed your tune on the Mayor quickly. A little quid pro-quo perhaps? Are the Republicans circling their wagons and throwing old Uncle Art overboard? Why are you flip-flopping? Until a couple of weeks ago you were making fun of Bill Nelson and calling for him to be voted out.

It is awfully convenient that you change your tune as soon as he changed his on Sciorra the Wonder Manager. Maybe you just have some kind of vendetta against him that motivates you and you're really not concerned about what's best for Ogdensburg at all. Maybe you're playing politics since we all know you are a Republican just like the mayor.

Some of us citizens care about the city as a whole not just the greenbelt and marina so we can show off for those fortunate enough to afford a boat and to take trips and dock overnight and buy any and everything imaginable.
Some of us have kids that are growing up in an enviorment full of druggies, sex offenders and prison guards. Our children are influenced by their surroundings and their neighbors.
The present administration has done nothing, nor does it offer any solutions for cleaning up this atmosphere.
Funny isnt it now that elections are here, Nelson acts concerned. Why not before this? Now we are getting notices in the paper about industry coming here, Believe it when you see it.. Patty Ritchie remembers where Ogdensburg is now that Nelson needs the press.. The walking Bridge got underway finally with pictures to go around. The city anager is a no good sob, however for the last few years he could do no wrong with this bunch.
The thing that most bothers me about this entire affair is we as taxpayers have been told consistantly over the years by Nelson that the manager runs the city and handles all personnel matters and decisions.. We have been told that thousands of times..Yet in the pinch Sciorra stated (confirmed by Nelson and council) asked permission to fire Woods back a few months ago..
Why would he consult at all?? Answer is Nelson is in charge... Why did they wait to fire him?? Nelson thought it was avantageous to his becoming mayor again// Why didnt Nelson make the motion for a resolution the other night?? Because the attorney will give his report withing a couple of weeks of the election and Nelson can have him fired just before the election to give you the impression of a great mayor doing his job..
Bottom line is this.. If you want Ogdensburg the way it is Vote for Nelson... If you want change any change they vote JACK MCGRATH...

Anonymous said...

Just one Simple Question to the McGraph supporter!!! If Art Scorria is still Manager - what will he do with Him if elected? No waffeling! You went door to door - you hear Justin - Wades - you hear Silver AND THE CITIZENS - AND NO PUSHING THE QUESTION OFF ON THE REPORT IS COMING OUT !! YOU WILL NEVER SEE THE REPORT. SKAMPERELE/ SCHOLETTE/ VAUGH Don't even want anyone too see it
and let SILVER answer for them!
???????????????????????????????????????????????? HEY ? Waiting

Anonymous said...

You're retarded if you don't think Skamperle, Vaugh and Sholette want the public to see the report. Doug and Skamp have wanted Art out more than anyone else in the past, but they aren't going to get behind Big Bill Nelson's opportunistic political games. You've had the wool pulled over your eyes by that fat, backstabbing douche of a mayor who is nothing more than a suit and a hair cut.

Anonymous said...

If you went to the sept.28 council or better than that review the disk!!! Skamp was begging Art to Defend himself and gave Art the Floor to do so! Skamp & Vaugh wants none to look at the files ! ONLY SILVER!! You have to be Joking to say - the protector of Art Skamp - when ever you said something about Art - his Quotes are you have to give him a chance - and in front of all Ogdensburg he asked Morley about people that liked Art - Morleys responce was the only people that like Art was You Dan - Nick Vaugh and Matt Flynn - 3 people! Skamp is Retarded- the facts of his flipping is proven every time he opens his mouth!

Rosie said...

Chuck - Glad I Got a fan - yes I am a conservative - independent -tea party person everything you don't Like !! In 18 letters to the editor My Number 1 concern is to get rid of the Manager. For what he has done to my community . You want to use the word Vendetta its your choice- are you one of 30 plus people who know what Art Did to people in my area! I have Facts. When someone is redeaming himself and doing what you ask should I not support him on that issue only . Now for my Number 2 concern I rest until Number 1 is completed. You will probably rejoice and cheer me when we maybe get two birds with one stone! Hey get you name and party (thats your big concern party) out there. I do need Help!!!
Do you Support Art Scorria? I don't . Do you support this Nelson/ Skampele/ Vaugh way of doing this? I don't They got control of this we don't -why don't we kind of get together and push them "ALL" off the cliff!

M. Dolengy said...

We have to put up with Skamp for two more years unless he does us a fovor and resigns with Art. Nicky is gone in January unless someone wants to push a santion against him not being a legal resident of this city
You are all correct in having a certain amount of rage but lets not reward someone (Nelson) for giving us one months worth of service as mayor.
Bill Nelson wants to be head of the Mayors association this year and travel and wine and dine with important people throughout the state. To get this honor he must be re-elected.. Why should we acknowledge him by voting him in so he can leave his deputy mayor running the city while he poses for more cameras and sucks up to Patty Ritchie to try and enhance himself into a possible run for the assembly... Yes Nelson has ambitions to run for office possibly even Pattys.. A few years there would put him right on the pension plan like our other career politican then he could go to Aurba EVERY year and thumb his nose at us..
Do you want a mayor who works for the people for twelve months a year of do you want a mayor who wants to do his job one month every four years.. Election time
ITS YOUR CHOICE

Rosie said...

A Big Thanks to
John Oakes - Kathy Wade - Doug Loffler. Ogdensburg Needs More people like you!

THANK YOU !!!!!

Also we have to say to Justin Woods - good - there is another side to every story ! Now the people just aren't Brain washed by Scorria! The WHO ME!! Manager!

Anonymous said...

Justin woods is an arrogant a00hole but he was good at the job he was doing. So is Sciorra.. Arrogant but good at his job.. However they are both liars and cant work with people and we cant condone either..
However haying said that Its undoubtly what Nelson and the majority of council wanted and backed for many years..
Like I stated before no noise until a counsil canidate brought forth some questions.. Even then secret meetings by Nelson until he felt he was gone unless he acted.Dont get me wrong hes right in doing what he did he just shouldnt have been so political about it.. We elected him four years ago its about time he did something... If it hadnt been election time we would know nothing now and Helson would smooth it over.. As it is now the manager will be fired probably just before election to gain Bill some more points.
Rememgber this could have been told us back in June but Bill didnt want this to influence anyone to run against him...

FYI
We need to look closely at the Defense Company that is planning to come to Ogdensburg. M. John Hensler said he is the Vice President of General Propulsion Inc. The conmpany's web presence is inconsistent with that of a established firm with a business plan. The OTTAWA office is located in a residence and is a very samll firm with one Director. The firm holds no government contracts or patented proprietary technology in either the US or Canada. According to D&B reports the company does not exist. This man is an entrepreneur with hopes of obtaining grant funds.

I really was hoping that this company would be establishing many new jobs that are needed in Ogdensburg. But that will be years-away at best.

Jim McCoy
Candidate for City Council

Mike Morley said...

Jim,
That is excellent research on your part. Thank you for the information. It is as I assumed, an attempt by the City manager to draw attention away from the pressing issues. It also served to put the Manager in good light for false reasons. Again, thank you for the due diligence.

Iam Fedup said...

Michael shame on you... The city manager is doing what hes paid to do... Propaganda for Nelsons reelection... Coman Mike you proven you can work with either side and Nelson has actually tried to make you look foolish over the years.. Let him do his own campaign...DONT BE A PARTY KISS=== LIKE BILL....
Your popular right now, and he wants to attach to your popularity at this moment but what about when he was screwing with Rose.. Was he your pal then or when he backed Sciorra over the Wimpys owners Was he your pal when you questioned his sons hiring by Sciorra... Come on Mike be honest you cant stand the mans politics either

Mike Morley said...

To Iam fedup,
I don't play party politics. Mr. McCoy did his homework. Give him credit.

Anonymous said...

So far in our home we're definitly going to vote for McGrath, Hosmer and McCoy

Still debating the 3rd council vacancy. Definitely Not voting for Ashley .

M. Dolengy said...

Mike Morley... I did give him credit.. I too dont play party politics. Ive watched this entire affair and will now comment on the last meeting.
I watched a lynch mob allowed to be disrupted and disorderly. Like Skamp said it was really out of hand..
I,m believe your investigation was warranted along with Nelsons but this I know for a fact. If it were not an election year Nelson would be on Vaughs side of things. Hes proven it time and time again. He sees the tide in Ogdensburg has changed. We are taxed but yet kept out of the loop by you guys council
. I watched one night Mike when you ssked a simple question about a possible sale of something in the Burg and you asked Woods who refused to tell you.. You acepted that.. Why? your the counsilor not Woods..
Woods and Sciorra brought an arrogant attitude to Ogdensburg and Bill Nelson backed in one hundred percent. With Nelsons backing they felt they could do anything and be unscathed.. They forgot one thing.. Bill Nelson would have been beaten last election if not for a third party running.. Why? People have seen him for what he is a politican for himself.
You know very well if elections were not upon us nothing would be getting acomplished.
By the way why wasnt Woods fired in July once Sciorra told you guys he was insubordant.. My guess is Nelson did what Sciorra said please dont do it until I<m sue of what the Democrats will do..
As soon as Jack McGrath got in the reace for mayor and only then did Nelson throw Sciorra under the bus for his own agenda..
I personally thing Bill Nelson is totally responsible for the mess in Ogdensburg and along with Wood and Sciorra should resign..
But htats not going to happen so I hope the polls put him into political retirement.

CANIDATES SPEAK UP
Some posted on a previous blog a chance to all canidates for council to let us know who they endorce for mayor
GREAT IDEA HOW ABOUT IT FOLKS SPEAK UP FROM THE HEART NOT THE PARTY...

Rosie said...

Jim McCoy way to Listen & Question . With all this speculation in the air a level headed approach is good for Ogdensburg! A Thumbs up for McCoy for a second time! Jim your first story ended with a certian counclor haveing damaging information and did not present this news to anyone ? What was the Name of that counclor!!!!

Now Scorria is on his own and promoting the city. So much for him presenting things to Council!(Did Not learn Lesson)Great if it works for all! Now Scorria is campaining for himself and anyone except Nelson - Morley - Cielly - Powers. He again has SPLIT the COUNCIL FOR SELF-PRESERVATION.

This story came out a couple of weeks ago in a memo but it was suppose to be HUSH HUSH until more facts came out! If 100% true it is Great news - but several canadian firms want a base here - our grant money ( Taxpayers money)
- and it a small 2-3 staffed office - this has happened before!! Could be positive I hope!

Again this issue is to Big to have either side use this as a tool. So What ever side that is working with Scorria should work throught the proper channels to snag this client.Scorria has a piece of bait hanging and council is squabbling for scraps . ( STOP LETTING HIM DIVIDE THIS BODY - TAKE CHARGE YOU ARE HIS BOSSES!!!)Again if it's a go GREAT for Ogdensburg.

Now back To You Jim - Timing smells we all sence this- bet you it was the same person that leaked it was the one who dropped the ball protecting Art in your Knox St. Story? He is not very good at politics!!

Funny isnt it that another defense contractor is interested in Ogdensburg..
Dew was here for a while and slipped away during the night and was followed by Coors tech.
Coor techs was influenced to leave during the congressional race in the North Country last year in an attempt to disrupt voters in this area and try and turn them sour on our Congressman Owens.
During the night departure, and done so quietly that neither our great city officals or the Bridge officals new it for months>>>
Our federal government is cutting defense spending significanly in the next four years so a military supplier dosnt set well with me as a long term employer fo this area... Especailly one with this type of credentialls..
GREAT IDEA FOR THE CANIDATES TO DIVULGE WHO THEY WOULD SUPPORT FOR MAYOR... everyone but Wayne however, he dosnt know how to write.

M. Dolengy said...

Mike Morley
I am going to question one fact of this entire case. The fact that Sciorra came to you guys with info that Just8in Woods was acting out of his authority and against direct orders.. No one seems to deny SCiorra questionsed Woods subordination..
But if the manager questioned it why didnt he fire Woods? Why did he ask your approval?? Nelson has preached for years that council cannot micro=manage.. Ive heard it over and over again the manager has to act we cannot direct him..
I am assuming that Nelsons political worries were talked about privately with Sciorra but why as a council didnt you fire Sciorra then???
You councilors were never informed about the Knox St residence until a canidate surfaced with the report. Obviously Nelson knew about the matter but chose not to tell you as he had no solutions either.
At the meeting the other night why didnt Nelson attempt to keep order.. Even someone as naive a Vaugh deserves order when he trys to speak.. If you didnt notice then you werent at the meeting..
My general statement to all of you is as a body your all guilty of letting something wrong go on for so long and to many of you have caved in to Nelson politics over the years. You have done the right thing now so fire him and lets move on however do it well after the elections possibly let the next administration do it.

Mike said...

To M. Dolengy,
Prior to this incident there were only two votes to get rid of the Manager. You have to pick your time to fight.

Anonymous said...

The federal government is cutting 450 billion from DEFENSE and perhaps even more over the next decade . It has been all over the news this week .

So while its nice to think this MAY have potential , in reality it probably has a serious uphill climb in the competition for scarce $$ when stacked up against domestic enterprises in this sector with long standing records of success as has been previously mentioned by others .

Leave no stone unturned in the due diligence feasibility determination process , but officials should be candidly realistic before investing any taxpayer's hard earned money for the long term.

M. Dolengy said...

Mike I get your drift but you avoided my real question. Was there any politcal games being played back then or dont you know? Nelson obviously didnt want Sciorra fired then.. Knowing what we know now politics changed that decision for him.. To enhance his own political agenda the manager became the sacrafical goat for the mayor and his campaign.
Any body with common sense knows the mayor is drooling over a potential job with the mayors association which will keep him in the highlight.. The democrats dont really have anyone to face off with Ritchie in 2012 so it becomes clearer each day that the popular Addie Russell will run against Ritchie leaving the 118th open for Nelson.. Nelson is drooling over the potential and wants to win at all costs but a loss here in November ends that thought.
He went all out at our expense to get Ritchie into the city hall so we can have pictures of him and Patty at every turn..
You fought this somewhat but Nelson Vaugh and Powers along with Skamp who didnt evern know what he voted for were against it..
This year was well planned by Nelson and his supporters.. the only losers are the city taxpayers who suffer as usuall.
It becomes obvious that you guys caved in for Nelson to get re-elected otherwise Woods would have been fired back in the begining.

Anonymous said...

Why is pumpkinhead Nick Vaugh still on this council. He does not even live in Ogdensburg.

Rosie said...

M Dolengy you got a good mind . its tought to follow all this, one person can send you off track for various reasons! And everyone has different ways of doing thing that result in the same product!

Nelson always liked and believed in Scorria - he trusted Scorria over my word. I knew Scorria was a liar and vendictive. So Politics 101 - I superglued then together - Same as sleep with dogs you get fleas - Now Nelson has to go to the vet! He goes out on the election trail and 80% of Ogdensburg say's - fire Scorria -or lose support - bingo Scorria has to go ! Scorria is dirty and does have to Go and the council is the only one who can fire him! Which is in the best interest of the city! As Far as Nelson - we vote!

If this was planned - its the worst stragity I've every whitnessed.( by Both Parties)What gives us an advantage is we can put 100% parties aside and they can't. ( Scorria is dangerous cause he can play both side for HIS advantage!)I think this will be the BEST HAT TRICK in o-burg when its over. Love to have a beer with ya! Their a gift that keeps on giving! Cause this group of people are very interesting. ------Morley will probably give a better Answer!

Anonymous said...

And still not one councilor has said who he supports for the mayoral election.

You must be a Vaugh supporter that the nicest word's every used to explain Him ! PumpkinHead

He is in Albany and is trying to make us believe he is living at his parents house! Maybe he is at ART's House Now!

Art will use him one more time and the juices will be drained out of his body! So then you can slip him under anybody's door!

Mike said...

To M. Dolengy,
If there were political games being played,I was out of the loop. For the past 2 years, I have been in concert with Doug Sholette to get a new Manager. We did not try to hide how we felt, and I do not recall anyone approaching either of us to help. If there was anything going on, it was happening through phone calls to which I was not privy.

Anonymous said...

So Mr. Morley does that mean that you are not supporting the incumbent mayor. I would like to see one council member that had the balls to say my vote is with Jack McGrath. It is so obvious that Mr. Nelson has his eye on the next prize...will you stand alone and vote for the people who are yelling for a change...or are you going to continue to ride the mayors shirt tail and try to place all of the blame elsewhere...No BS...tell us where you stand...

Mike said...

To M. Dolengy,
No one caved to Nelson. Council cannot fire Woods. That is up to Art. I personally asked Art at least five times in July when he was going to pull the trigger. He kept hesitating, and now we know why. Justin had Art by the balls with incriminating information. It had nothing to do with us.

I would like to hear where each of the counselors running for a seat stand...what I hate about politicians is they never can come out and say what they think...too busy trying to get elected or hold on tho their seat.

Mr. Morley you are playing politics now right side by side with Mr. Nelson...as it said clearly in your memo to The city manager....this is all about getting your buddy reelected.

I do not ride shirttails. If you believe that, you are sorely misinformed.
I vote by secret ballot, same as you.

One other thing. You want me to tell you who I support, but you won't even tell your name.

Anonymous said...

You don't believe that the people who voted for you should understand who you support to represent our city for the next four years. You don't think that the voters have a right to know who the councilors that are now running support when clearly that vote means either you want four more years of the same leadership or a change? This city has lost confidence in all of it's leaders not just the city manager. You are a voice for the people that voted for you, are you telling me they have no right to know what or who you support?

Anonymous said...

I am not a public figure....I am a voice of the voting public and I believe you owe us an answer.

Is there a single counselor out there that will tell us who they support for Mayor....Mr Nelson has been in the job long enough to know what we can expect from him...do we want that for four more years or do we want a change. Mr. Morley please tell us....is there anyone running for a seat out there that has any convictions...the last thing we need are more individuals worried more about the seat than the overall best interest of it's citizens.

Anonymous said...

Mr. Morley, you are an elected official...the people that support you deserve to know where you stand. I am ver happy to tell you I will vote for Mr. McGrath...Mr. McCoy. And the jury is still out on the rest simply because I don't know who they support.

Anonymous said...

I will support anyone who will have the balls to stand up and state what they believe... I don't have to agree with everything they say...I just have to believe that they have the best interest in our city at heart...not just a desire to get their picture in the paper...Mr. Morley you don't need to tell us who you support...you are clearly Mr. Nelson's puppet...

Anonymous said...

Hes got a share of Nelsons balls also.. One week earlier Nelson was hollering about Woods not showing up for work with the rest of you. A week later when nelson realizes whats going on and he wont be re-elected he has to do something dramatic.. He now wants to lead the charge to fire the manager. He invites Woods to the meeting. Now Woods is the good guy and Sciorra the bad guy..
I have come to this conclussion, we have counsilors that do care but have a problem functioning with a man like Bill Nelson at the helm. Most of the council want to be usefull and do whats best for the majority of the city. Nelson seems content to please a certain group. His posturing and posing and constantly clearing his throat when he talks is disturbing to say the least.. Mike keep up the good work for us.
We are going to try and give you another man as mayor to work with. If new person dosnt work out we will depend on the likes of you and McCoy to point it out to us and we will replace him.
I dont think anyone should have to tell who they are voting for nor would I as it is my constitutional right not to but I,m asking candiates only give us some idea who you will embrase.
This defense contractor is a smokescreen but whos??
What happened to the windmill employer who was interested but no one knew about.
Is this all election year BS.. I remember when Theresa Bush ran for mayor and Nelson ran around telling everyone he had brought new job. Come to find out he was talking about the woodstand mill that never came here.. How come Nelson didnt know about Coorteck leaving... Hes really not in the loop when it comes to private industry... Only Powers keeps him up to snuff on prisions and Ritchie on the Perv unit..

Mike said...

To anon.
I will tell you who I support even though you are not even brave enough to put your name here. I support Bill Nelson because he has taken a stand for what is right. I cannnot say we have agreed on everything, but he is not silent about what should be done. I, nor Bill, are going to let a report tell us how to think. I can come to my own conclusions. How about you? Can you tell us who you are and where you stand? Or are you going to continue hiding behind the anonymous name?

Anonymous said...

What stand has Nelson takin that you are referring to...it seems to change so often I can't keep track...well at least thank you for telling us what you believe...no changes...your happy with the way things are...when is your seat up? Mr. Nelson was The city managers biggest advocate until he found out it would cost him the election...then he threw him under the bus the same way Sciorra threw woods under the bus...we need a mayor and a council that are going to head this city out of the depression it is in...not just more of the same BS that has gotten us here.

Anonymous said...

Mr. Morley why did you bother to have the city attorney do the investigation if you have all of the answers...I to believe regardless of the outcome of the investigation that Mr. Scorria has to go....my reasoning is that the city has no confidence in him...I think you and Mr. Nelson have made it a political issue...it should have been dealt with months ago because it was the right thing for our city...it is simply time to change...sorry to hear that you do not agree with that.

Mike said...

How would I deal with it months ago when I did not even know about it?

Iam Fedup said...

I agree with you Mike.. It was kept from the council and probably even Nelson even though I am pressed to believe that. Ive known you long enough to realize you would have brought this up at meetings.. Meeting after meeting I watched you fight along with Shollette for the right things to be done. Time and time again I watched nelson and Sciorra hide behind attornies Wears and Silver and get the veto votes from Vaugh and Powers. They hide behind attorney client privelege and just go by their interpatation of the law..
People in this city need to have more than five minutes of time in front of council to express themselves.
Its time to acknowlede the grieved taxpayers of this city..
I think the charter should be revisited and some items changed to give the council more authority and more oversight on the running of the city..To much power in one place can be devastating as we have learned
Sciorra misused his power, Woods misused the power he was given and most certainly Nelson has misused his trust to us.. Time to change.
Only we can do this at the polls.

Anonymous said...

The council has known about this since at least June. No one even mentions Grove street..how long have you know about that...the only thing that I hear you saying Mr. Morley is that you do not believe we need change!!! I am a Republican...I generally vote pretty much party line....never has it been more clear to me that I need to abandon my party in an election and vote simply for change. This election can not be about party line...it has to be the best interest of our community and the only interest our Republican incumbent sees is his own.

Mike said...

To Iam Fedup,
Believe me, if I would have known about it, I would have screamed. It was intentionally hidden from us. I think we have to change the way we do housing rehab.Outside agencies can do things that Council is unaware of, and Councilors have no authority to check. That has to be changed. Growth fund should consist of businessmen, no politicians, with monthly reports coming to Council for approval. The Manager has to be able to run theCity on a day to day basis without Council oversight, but this one has hidden things that he knew we qould object to. It is time for a new one. Council will be different next year because we will lose Powers and Sholette. Vaugh has been lost for a long time. I think no matter who gets elected to Council, there will be a new way of doing business. No yes men.

Two City Counclors MIKE MORLEY and DOUG SHOLETTE FOR OVER TWO YEARS - YES OVER TWO YEARS! With no help from anyone!!Has tried to rid us of this city Manager. The Votes were not there! The city manager had good friends Nelson / Skamperele/ Vaugh with full support! ( Attack them -they were in the privy circle of information)) Mr. Morley has finally got a chance to get rid of him. Why do you take a wide brush and assume things -Sorry BUT is Nelson doing the right thing NOW on the Scorria Issue YES - Skamperele and Vaugn sanctioned both of them -why both?
ASK SKAMPERELE and VAUGN they want to keep ART. Cielly and Powers believe me want to hide away - and I don't blame them. Mr. Morley has nothing to hide call him - he returns your call - ask Questions he answers - need support he's there! Do you see or hear SKAMP or Nick around and answering to the crowd . They even don't like each other except throw in the ART factor- instant buds.

YOU HAVE THE EAR OF MIKE MORLEY!!! Doug would have backed him! WHOS OTHER EARS DO YOU HAVE! Put your name up there and let people assume thing about you!!

Well I'm for complete change all new council and Mayor and if the sitting incumbent FAIL TO IMPROVE they too will not be supported in their next election ,cycle . This city is in a serious tailspin and all i'm hearing IS noise , no plan , no strategy , no accountability , no vision, no leadership.

CERTAINLY NO TRANSPARENCY AND TRUST ,until the --- hit the fan .

The only thing sensible to do is to throw them ALL out of office . The Definition of Insanity is to continue doing the same things while expecting differant results !!

Well said Rosie, Thanks Doug for your efforts!!!

I just read Jack McGraths resume and statement on the last blog.. Thank you sir for your interst in our community...
The only people who havnt had the courtesy to respond to us are Wayne Ashley and Bill Nelson.. While Wayne could use the excuse he didnt know about the site the mayor cant.. he is very aware of this site and the mayor of Watertowns site.
Mr. Nelson likes to use Twitter and the Web sites to his advantage when he can author all comments and he dosnt face any tough questions..
Getting back to Mr Mcgrath if all else dosnt count I love what he represents.. He is not a politican hes a businessman....
Weve had our share of politics in Ogdensburg for many years now. We are sick of them.. So for many of us a change is a breath of fresh air.. Bill Nelson is using a very sad event in our history and making it into a political circus. Even morons like Nick vaugh and Skamperele deserve the respect of being able to talk without being booed and threatened which is exactly what Nelson allowed to happen..
Even a--holes like Woods and Sciorrra deserve their day in court and it was up to Nelson to see to it... Yes he did what should have been done previously and looked at some of the facts and come to his own conclussion. But the sad part is he proclaimed his position which is wrong.. If a man were on trial and a juror were to jump up and say hes guilty hang him that juror would be repremendied and dismissed.. Thats what Nelson did.. He didnt want the manager to fire Woods until it was politically correct for him Nelson but now that its advantageous to him he wants him fired. Me I feel I,ll wait until Silver comes back with ALL of the evidence then come to my own conclussion..

The investigation isn't even revealed yet, and all of you idiots are still pointing fingers...Let's see what the investigation reveals...Not only that, don't you see that all of this negative attention many ruin any possible grant funding in the future...HELLO get a clue and shut your mouths before the we lose more!!!! blah, blah, blah...it is really getting old!!! You are all acting like children.

Anonymous said...

Mr. Nonsense -take a pill- this has already ruined our grant funding as it did three years ago. We have leaders that need to go. We are pleased to have a idiot like you respond to free speach! This investigation will reveal no more than whats said here. People like you want to spend big money for phony reports. Chill - go watch some unreality show! or cartoon !!

as long as uncle art is telling people that a defense contractor is bringing 200 jobs when that number is a fantasy he is very dangerous...no investigation necesary. the story was on the ap even though art never brought the matter to council or looked at his website general-propulsion.com

PLEASE COULD SOME ONE COMMENT ON UNCLE ART'S PAST EMPLOYMENT - IT WOULD SHOW HIS TRUE COLORS?

VERY IMPORTANT ? A FEW CALLS WOULD ANSWER A LOT OF QUESTIONS?

Yes if you go back 3or4 jobs and talk to real people involed then a pattern will exist. No one knows his past. He is educated on lawyers ,Politics and secret pacts? There has to be a messy trail?

Art is retired military. Just like the last county administrator. Don Brining.. He was an Air Force Cournal.. He kept is oak leaf lcuster on his desk for all to view. This is how he governed. He had a bunch of fools he worked for called legislators. He catered to them he did every thing for them but breath.. He seated them in chambers and during the ice storm of 98 he did an excellent job of biring us out of the woods..

The legislators were in the dark constantly and only Don could speak with confidence. They became so dependant on this man they forgot who run the County..
I see the same thing has happened here.
Council is in the dark and only the mayor is allowed privy info. He tells only who he wants..
Nelson is a politican pure and simple. He rather line up with others acomplishments get his picture taken then give a statement patting himself on the back. We need someone at the helm that wants to make Ogdensburg his career not politics.

Simple said...

GOOD - GRIEF CHARLEY BROWN - keep it simple - The city's or towns ?- google it - Find representatives -talk to and get info. There is the information highway out there not a trip to outer space philosophy !

General Propulsion's being here has nothing to do with Art Sciorra being the city manager, though he does deserve a lot of credit for working with this entrepreneur for several months.

Though they are a small company right now with a handful of employees, yes, they are serious about creating hundreds of jobs in Ogdensburg but they will need a federal contract to do it. The timeline given by their business plan and the city manager's press release might be too aggressive, but these guys are very serious.

There's a lot of misinformation in these blog comments, tread carefully.

Entrepreneur or defense contractor? where are the patents? there are no photos of products on the website and he has been talking about the sceg since 2003.

http://articles.southbendtribune.com/2005-12-08/news/27007528_1_village-manager-public-works-director-position-vacation-time

Sciorra also said the move had nothing to do with the recent changes in the village's political landscape. "This is coincidental with the way things have worked out in the village," he said of the recall of council President Julia Bell and trustees William Curry and Maxine Snipes and the subsequent election of Michelle Andrews as president and appointment of Walter Malone as trustee. It was Malone who led last summer's recall of Bell, Curry and Snipes on the grounds that they didn't provide enough oversight of Sciorra.

sound familiar?

Did anyone in Ogdensburg check on City Manager Art Sciorra when he was employed by the Village of Cassopolis, MI.? According to the South Bend Tribune dated 11/12/2005he was under fire from a group of village residents and a portion of the Village Council who accused him of mismanaging the Village's rental rehabilition program. This is another fine job by Art Sciorra. This man should be fired ASAP. Hey Art maybe you should try to get a job at Indian Rocks Beach, Florida. I hear they are looking for a street sweeper. I know you were thinking of being a City Manager there in 2005 before you came to Ogdensburg.

Iam Fedup said...

He came here with credentials that were never checked out. Nelson has supported and even lied for this man for the entire time hes been here. The reason is Art makes Bill look good and thats all Bill has cared about. I suppose Nelson will blame someone else on council but its him as the leader we look to.
Woods obviously had some bad baggage also but that we can blame on the manager..
Sciorra did his job well and was protected by Nelson. He didnt want any headlines Nelson did and Art was glad so sit in the background and draw his pay and let Nelson bow and pose.. Now Nelson knows hes on his way out so he throws Art to the wolves to look good.
I still want a logical answer why Woods wasnt fired earlier and why Sciorra firing wasnt moved for the other night... Again, its Nelson he wants it done when it suits his political career the most...
Woods and Sciorra are no more to fault for whats gone on than Bill Nelson and his parrots... We need a change in the Burg. We need Jack McGrath as our leader... If Jack stumbles we will replace him but he sure deserves a chance Nelson has failed.

Want his past said...

GREAT Stay on the Talking Points of Scorria previous employment . I got unlimited calling!!! Cities -Towns and Names are good !! MORE

Hello Again Art. This is your past speaking again. Do you remember Tim Swenor and Sandy Swenor? How about Jim Ameigh or Sue Ameigh from the Village of Cassopolis? both couples believe you lied and deceived them. This was over a rehab issued with rental property. Nice job again Art. I can not wait until you are on the last bus out of Ogdensburg.

Anonymous said...

No Bill I dont.. But I,m sure its you doing all of this research on me now.. Why wasnt this done prior to my hiring. These names are no different that Relling or Rose the people you backed me on when I screwed them...You told me to wait until after the election to fire Justin and I obliged now you throw me under the bus. Ive done only what the mayor of Ogdensburg has asked me to do.. Mr Mayor you would have lost to council man Lamachia last election but I helped you pull it out near the end with some publicity for you... Is this the thanks I get... Bill in the future before Jack takes over do background checks its your responbility to the people..

Anonymous said...

Listen to me Art. You were hired by me for only one reason and that was to get rid of Tim Baker. You also were warned several times to keep me informed on all matters. I knew you were not qualified to fill the position of City Manager in Ogdensburg. You were almost fired in Cassopolis for the same reasons you have failed in your duties here as City Manager.

not to mention when uncle art told us a fake company had signed a deal to redevelop the diamond property...his job was on the line then too

http://www.watertowndailytimes.com/article/20080820/NEWS05/30452

is everyone coming to next council meeting to cheer art?

A quick honest answer... Was Sciorra checked at all? Who checked him? dont blame Cosmo...
Was his choice unanamous?? This web site should have sent some sort of warning signs. Its been there since 2005.
This gives the impression that under his management most of their elected officals lost their job to recall...

Art was recommended to Ogdensburg by an outside consultant who thought that the city should not hire someone internally, despite some very qualified applicants from the area. One of those was John Rishe, who has been extremely successful over at the OBPA.

One might wonder why the city and the OBPA aren't doing more work in conjunction - it is because Mr. Sciorra has a personal problem with the OBPA and refuses to work with them. Art's little vendettas have been holding back economic development in this city.

As for General Propulsion, they are a legitimate company with good ideas but no money to make them work. We should embrace them coming here and do what we can to help them instead of frightening away one of our rare chances for real economic development with baserless criticism.

Anonymous said...

i think people know general propulsion is a legitimate company that is registered but when chris robbins told people that art was bringing 200 jobs thanks to a defense contractor it sounded more set in stone. the first story made it sound like the company was still an active contractor and did not mention bankruptcy or that the company has 5 employees currently.

we think the self contained emergency generator is a good idea but, hopefully there will be a patent and a trademark soon so that the us military will actually be interested!

I am glad Knox Street blew up in the City. It has brought many voters into the political arena and possibly many more will vote for a change. This fiasco has put the councilors on the spot and forced many into action. The Knox St. property has got a lot of attention but is a little problem. Bigger problems like how grant money is used, drugs, crimes, and the slow demise of the city should be addressed with the same passion.

We have made great strides on the waterfront with the marina, river walk, demolition of many eye sores on lake street, and building of the Dobisky Center. I salute the council on their success. I fear many of these successes have been overlooked.

Woods was to be fired back before Seaway Festival but was delayed because of the festival. Plus Wood was using the Knox Street property to hold Sciorra hostage.

Sounds great dosnt it... We are getting away from the main topic in firing Sciorra and getting Nelson out of office.
We vote a council and mayor into place to work for us.. Why are we using consultants constantly.
Baker was fired but I cant remember who did it but it was Nelson baby.. He and Baker didnt get along.. Baker made too many waves for the city. He demanded things be done right and there were influential people who Baker wouldnt let take shortcuts that run to Nelson period end of conversation.
We all know we have a inadequet supervisor at the public workd and Baker was constantly clashing with him
Like retired patrolman Mart said at the meeting I,d hate to work for this council....
The person asking about why Nelson didnt introduce a resolution the other night is right. Why not? Smells like more politcs.
By the way Mr Rishe is probably the wrong party but he or Cosmo or Wade himslef could have done well. Murphy I didnt like but he probably would have fit in...

Nelson doesn't want Art gone until after the election, either. Too many people can be fooled into forgetting how miserable of a record he has as Ogdensburg's mayor if he can continue to posture himself against the city manager.

Anonymous said...

Anonymous @ 7:19 p.m. --- I don't think anyone made it sound like this company was a done deal, except for certain people's wishful thinking. Hensler and Robbins have been very realistic about the possibilities. Uncle Art blew it out of proportion to try to save his hide.

ITs Holloween and the skeltons are flying around Art Scorria! More from the PAST PLEASE. Wait until Christmas when you get a visit from 3 Ghost Past - Present and Future. Need More - keep going Cassopolis - Andrews Mr . Malone - Swenors and Ameighs - re-hab again!!

Poly.. Just read your last commentary. I dont agree they acomplishments are overlooked I think they are great but few.. I feel their downfall is in the rest of the city like you do..
The Festible is not the reason Woods didnt go it was Nelsons request in City Hall. As soon as the time had passed for petitions for the democrats he told Art to pull the trigger.. Only problem was that Woods had the trigger. Remember Nelson is the reason that Art got away with all he has done.
I agree we should get rid of the good ole boys on the council and the mayor.. We certainly need new blood.
