Journal:Knox Street Property Lease Passes

Free House
Well, years later and the family living on Knox Street has a lease with the City. I guess the next step is to give them the house and we should have this mess cleaned up. The City used $87,000.00 of grant money to remodel the house then they sell the house for $51,000.00. Of that $51,000.00 the City will give them $51,000.00 in grant money to buy the house. The best part of this deal is the City magically convert grant money in to City Money.

In all my years of real estate I never got a deal like this. Free rehab and a free house, sounds like someone in the City was running a scam with tax payer's money. I do not blame the family, who would turn down a deal like this? This mess was created and managed by the City Manager and his staff. They should be held responsible!!

Time for the City to publicly list all properties owned by the City. They should be auctioned off and put back on the tax rolls.

The election is over folks.. Nelson and his supporters are back at the BS business carried on before this mess was discovered.
Mike Morley the peoples savior voted to OK the lease after putting on an act that would have you believe he was possibly against it..
Powers didnt want to evict anyone at the holidays.. Heh Mike go back and let the inmates go home for the holidays, they deserve it..
Like the author I dont blame the tennants of that place but something has to change..
City manager still here as expected.. nelson basiclay has won the election so no need to move or pose for now.. Powers and Vaugh dont care.. Skamperele to stupid to know what care means.. Waitng for the new attorney to be picked so he can make some of our money..
When all done and said nothing changes in the enchanted city on the River...
Mike Morely you let us down pal you really disappointed us...

I told you all nothing would change. Morley was simply Nelsons pawn for his re-election. Beleive me a deal has been made with Sciorra.. That nonsense the other day about a fourteen year ood girl and a drunk were only a smear.. The only one that Sciorra has anything on is Nelson and its substantial... Ashley, Bean, Hosmer and Stevenson will fall in line soon aftr they are sworn in. This City is an embarrsment. The voters are an embarrsment but thats the AMerican way majority wins....
Believe me folks Sciorra is going nowhere as a package is already been prepared.. Right now the show must continue until Nelson is one hundred percent sure.. JUst use common sense... Silvers work up to now will come in between 18000 and 25 thousand.. The new attorney will do his investigation and decision and it will cost us another amount close to the above..Nelson will not want to spend the money for severance and for all appearances Sciorra will resign when he finds a new job not a minute before...

I am surprised that the regional council wasn't more excited by Uncle Art's magical defense contractor!!!

By now, weary people would just support him finishing out his contract. If they attempt to give him another contract in February, we should make every council meeting very crowded.

IF voters do not DEMAND action these council members will slip into previous behaviors which has caused a polarization in this city and has resulted in Ogdensburg becoming both a dumping ground and a laughingstock .

DO NOT TRUST ANY OF THEM!

They are not worthy of support UNTIL they PROVE their meddle and implement the will of the voters and DO the Right Things.

The people have voted so live with it. They did not want change. They want the city manager to stay and they wanted the poor family on knox st to have a happy holiday. Ogdensburg's new council will be nothing more and yes men for the Mayor Nelson. Have a great holiday season. Remember people you voted for the new council members. Now you have to live with your actions.

Two elections in a row, nearly half of the voters tried to get rid of Nelson. That alone, speaks volumes. He is not winning over the people, he is existing in spite of them. Would love to see the breakdown of voters...who do you think voted for Nelson?

Favorite line: "I don't play politics." - Mike Morley

My bet :The Towers , The CO's and the Hospital voted for Nelson

Do not forget the teachers. They vote like they are told by Fred Bean. Why don't you try to run for any public office Fred? Answer is that you could not get elected as dog catcher. I have to give credit for getting ashley elected. Just make sure you keep him in line and he follows every order you give him. Good luck ogdensburg.

When your wondering about Nelson and how he got his votes you forgot one fairly good sourse of votes.. The united Helpers..Those staffs work hard for incumbants as management tells them.. Most people living in those establishments rely on the staff their to survive so woking them is a must.. Still want to know how people at the home on pythion hill can vote for city elections.. They do not reside in city period...

WHY IS JENNIFER STEVENSON UNDER INVESTIGATION BY THE ATTORNEY GENERAL'S office and the county housing office she should not be allowed to take her office in January
the Mayor and Council better look into this I am not the only one who has heard this. We want to know what is going on!!!!!!!!!

Anonymous said...

Mike Morley you have lost our support i cannot believe I witnessed you vote yes for that lease after you told the Mayor and Mike Power's you would not vote yes and then you change it disgraceful!!!!!!!

Mike Morley is famous for backing down on important issues. Next he will be supporting Art Sciorra and will give him a raise in pay. Like Mr. Morley's says I hate it, I do not like, but I will vote for it. Ogdensburg you have not seen nothing yet. Wait until the new council is seated. They will give the city manager a medal. Ms. Stevenson will be convicted of fraud but will remain on the City Council. Hosmer will get bags full of money for his MARINA. Ashley will secure a DPW job for his son freash out of prison. I'm so glad I Live in Canton.

Love was in the Air! At the last council meeting Mr. Skaamper with Scorria pulling the strings and Attorney Silver were cozy. The Questions and Answer period was nice! The technique to control council is the same? You have to come up with better ideas Art and Andy - Skamper's brain is cooked and Vaugn is tiresome! Andy, Dan and Nick rehearsal is at Arts House this week!

Anonymous said...

Why is Mr. Morley the problem when........
Only Mr. Skamperele and Mr. Vaugn want Scorria to remain in power and yes.. they would give him a raise. Those two with Scorria guiding the way is unbelieveable. The whole city will be in a bundle of lawsuits if they can't shut their mouths. And here we sit with no attorney! The fearsome - foursome should go to the golf course and stay there!

Looks like Morley and Nelson got badly out maneuvered into thinking that a report by Art's attorney would make Art seem guilty. Knox Street is small potatoes for city government. What's shameful is that Art brought Cosmo, Wears, anyone into it just so he could have zero exposure. In the process he made it a big deal that distracts from city business and detracts from the city's good name.

Art is a dumb man who cares only about himself and who's been propped up by grant monies to look halfway competent. He knew about Knox St and stalled because he hates dealing with Council...but we've known that for weeks; Robbins reported it. But Silver had no reason to write a report that goes any deeper than that.

Anonymous said...

Your wrong about Cosmo.. Hes knee deep in this... Insubordinate... period...
Nelson knee deep in this with his constant support of Art.. Besides its begining to look just like what many said it was. A charade to give Nelson some leverage to keep his job a city hall.
Seeing Morley dosnt play politics, hehehehehe..
Why dont they shut up and pay him or just let his contract expire and not renew it... No We have to pay some attorney 250 an hour to tell us to do that...
I think manager should go but I also feel Silvers shouldnt be renewed as city attorney, Cosmo should not be an employee after this and anyone else involved..

Anonymous said...

Insubordinate and couldn't be controlled by Art for two years...but Art never told Council about this problem so doesn't say much for his managerial talents, does it? Same with Woods. Seems incredible that Art would be allowed to pilot the ship when he has major problems with insubordination but doesn't seek help from Council.

Simple fact is that Art dragged his feet on doing anything because he didn't want to evict for legal/insurance reasons and didn't want to admit to Council that City was allowing family to live rent-free. If he'd been honest and forthright, this problem could have been nipped in the bud.

Instead, old Uncle Art made it very messy. He's being helped now by the foolishness of the Mayor. But this is a depressing saga. How did we even let it get this far with a man who should have been gone years ago for his charitable mission to "help" the cheese plant?

The cheese plant stands out the most to me. But there's very little this guy has done right without the help of grant revenues that his employees brought in.

Why are you crying about your current gouvernment. You had a chance to make changes, but you elected the good old boys. So live with your choices. The majority of the voters did not want changes. Uncle art is hear to stay so get over it folks. He is a liar and has no idea on how to run a city. By the way if you look at this current contact, he will still receive approximately $75,000 even if you do not renew his contract.

Bruce said...

Hey Bitches Nelson by 11, BAHAHAHAHAHAHA, Let the crying begin by all you Know nothings!!! I have been waiting for this so I could post this to all you pathetic BITCHES!!!

You MUST be one of the Geniuses that graduated in the bottom 10% at OFA :>))

Quite the contrary 1:52, nearly top of class! Loser!!

It doesn't help to call each other names. We must pick up the pieces and move on. We can all agree that Art must go. That should be Nelson's priority along with the budget. A new footbridge project is underway, along with a new water line across the Oswegatchie. Small doable projects are what is needed. Tear down Shade Roller. Auction off excess properties. Find a developer for Diamond. Get small business to locate here, and bigger businesses will come. We have to work together. We have enough to do without being at each other's throats.

We shouldn't be limiting government like this. Government is an expression of the collective power of a population.

Instead of talking about little things, we need people who will think big in positions of power. Unfortunately, there were no candidates in Ogdensburg this year who fit that description.

I want to see people who will stop making decisions just to hang on to what we have, and who will start challenging themselves to make Ogdensburg better.

Bruce You are the LOSER pal along with those who voted to continue this failed administration . We are NOT tied to this place and have the means to live anywhere .

This place is Loserville Small minds , small project and damn little thinking going on here --

NOPE most here seem to like the status Quo here and enjoy being the backasswards stepchild of St Lawrence County.

The so called projects Morley has mentioned have taken too damn long and frankly lack the "pop" to attract and or retain those people who have both ambition , talent and money .

Seeing she won her seat Jennifer Stevenson is now a public figure and will be sitting on the council with you.. Is there any truth to the rumor that she is being investigated by the attorney generals office..
She should have her day in court if she is but if found guilty of whatever shes been accused of should mean here immediate resignation to the council... Like I said help dispel this rumor about one of our elected officals.

Mike Morley said...

I have no idea. And I will not venture a guess. I do not know who started that rumor, but I believe that is all it is.

Anonymous said...

Heres a story thats no rumor.. David Forsythe the Republican brainchild that agreed to a union contract with the County jail personnel then went across the street and voted no, cost the County quite a bit of money.. Over a million dollars to be factual..
Remember when brainchild pounded the parades and all the events preaching no raise for the County workers, more taxes for the County resdients.. Remember when Addie throttled him in the election.. Stick to insurance DAve.. or tie a few more pheasants up for the paid hunting you do you sure dont know politics and people....
ALso that rumor above started from Steve Rose of Hate Sciorra fame.

Anonymous said...

the hate sciorra club is alot bigger than you think

Anonymous said...

8:02 Not sure everyone hates the man. I think most of us just wish he were elsewhere.

Anonymous said...

9:16 truth !! no Hate at all just do not believe he is the able to lead effectively .

He needs to move on , we as a city need a FRESH start with no baggage . The mayor needs to get HIS ACT together too . A landslide plurality did not happen, so many in town are not convinced he has the RIGHT STUFF to lead either .

He can recoup voter confidence by starting to lead and forgetting the BS of party politics .

Anonymous said...

Nelson will never forget Party politics.. Right now he is in line to be given leadership of the mayors assocation.. No big deal there as we have had mayors in the past hold that job..Its his thinking about the future is why the party will be close to the vest. Fred Bean will run him until at least next year when Nancy Martin makes up her mind who runs against Addie..
Right now Rupp would be the logical choice but no one can count on her even wanting the job and dont forget wonderboy Forsythe he could be a factor even though his decision with the county workers backfired and will be very costly to taxpayers in the next couple of years..
Bill Nelson wants to be a politican and an Albany politican at least. WLith four terms as mayor which would be sixteen years a few years of Al;bany work would give him a nice pension to say the lesst... With the Mike Morleys of the Council he will control the every vote made in our future here in the city also so dont expect anything but what we have had for some time....

Anonymous said...

I just hope its not David Forsythe.. What a loser.. He should have stayed away from politics and in the in surance business.. Of course once and a while at his hunting lodge they tie up a pheasant or two for people tohunt.. We will pay for his mistakes for years to come.

You have obviously not paid much attention to what goes on in this City.(particularly City hall) Your knowledge of retirement is pathetic at best. There is no retirement for City Councilors unless you contribute, which most of us don't because of the low pay, and not expecting to sit there twenty years. And I have voted differently from Nelson more than any City Councilor. I have never been the rubber stamp. You would know this if you paid any attention at all. I would say that your ignorance amazes me, but it doesn't. You are another who just likes to shoot your mouth off with no actual facts to back you up. Why don't you put your name here so everybody can see who you are? Or are you only brave when you can hide?

Mike MOrley

Yes you have ... Your vote for the four lane highway was appreciated and forced the three Amigos to change their votes. I asked the question some time ago did the letter get sent supporting the sales tax.. You said you believed Nelson was on board...???
NYS Retirement contributions can be made or bought at a later date. With four terms as mayor and some as council man would forfill. He could buy the time back if he was in ALbany and put three years in for say as a Assemblyman... Thats my opinion of Nelson.. No one is so full of himself for any other reason...
Like my right to vote secretly, I can remain annoumouns for my own reasons and choose to do so.. No I,m not a brave person but I am a taxpayer that the editor of this blog allows to blog and remain silent.. Are you as a councilor opposed to those rights...
