I think Mr. Bellardini missed the part about non-partisan redistricting. That is not the case when Democratic Governor Cuomo is picking 4 members, the Democratic Controlled Assembly is picking 2, and the Republicans in the Senate are picking 2 members. Mr. Bellardini should understand the difference between partisan and non-partisan redistricting. I believe, Mr. Bellardini is still having a hard time dealing with Commissioner Aulbertine's defeat to Senator Ritchie.
The only good thing is the Republicans won the majority this year or the Democrats would be picking all the members of the non-partisan committee. I can only hope, but we all know the panel will consist of a bunch of political "YES" men. The Democrats want everything fair, but the Democrats moved all the inmates living in Correctional Facilities back to NYC. A census is a snap shot and they should be counted just like the Federal Census. If your young adult is in college during the census they are counted at school. This move by the Democrats will increase the power of the NYC legislators and decrease aide to the areas above NYC. I have a hard time when I hear the Senate Democrats and Mr. Bellardini cry foul. I believe this only undermines Mr. Bellardini's credibility as the Democratic Chairman.

They might as well let the senate and assembly set their own lines. This is a political bombshell and Mr. Bellardini is one of the biggest cheer leaders, he does make a good one.
Ritchie gave her word and broke it plain and simple.. Most politicans do and will its no big deal.. My problem with her is the fact she already has lost cheap power for small busniness in this area, and now she backing politicans that want to make life miserable for public assistance people. The legislation is only going to raise the cost of medicade for us taxpayers.
Pat Ritchie run the County clerks office for years. She treated everyone fairly and with respect. Now thats shes a Senator iyt appears she looks down on the poor and wants to follow SKelos and Libeos.
I think we ought to inquire with some of the local landlords to see if she got the best deal for her offices . Most every other municipal enity moved to Blevins apts including Scial Security and her Dept of Motor Vehical office. Why would she use City Hall where the rent is more and its in the basement when Blevins offered better deals not the state....
She appears to be falling into the mold of politicans like Nick Vaugh.. Whatever the GOP says she shakes her head in that direction.
That politcal BS goes in one ear and out the other.. Both parties are equally responsible for that type of spin.
My biggest concern so far about her is that whe has been voting consistantly with Dean Skelos on everything.. I dont like her silence on the oprison issue while Addie Russell is working hard to salvage what we have. I also am concerned that her move to city hall was mearly political. was the City the best bidder? Was this even discussed with other landlords?. This is a state office and she promised to cut costs and stupid spending.. While she was our County Clerk she chose to ask the legislators to move her office from City Hall to Blevins apts or the mall area.. The County probation and some other State enities already rent space there. The Social Security Office put out bids and again they chose the area of the mall..
Why would the Mall area not be looked at?? Its just as accessible and probably more convenient to visit than where she is going.
I believe that Ogdensburg is a great place to have your Senators office but make it available to more than our local politicans.
Also in closing I also am very upset with her stance on the proposals so far about Medicade reciepants. These are people who have fallen on hard times and the bill shes supporting will certainly not help them by any means.
The Pat Ritchie I knew was a compassion ate person . What a difference a title makes.
Off the topic of Richie , Baldradi has been promoting Gavin Regan for County Clerk and th epossiblity of getting him appointed. This is political on the Democrats part pure and simple.. Its the law however and if yu dont ike it change it..
The Democrats on the County Legislture are going to take Mary Rains administrative duties away from her. The simple fact is she has made our District attorney look foolish many times this year plain and simple. Niciole Duve needs to be replaced. We all know that but the Democrats feel Mary Rain has put herself into a position to threaten taking that office back for the Republicans . Her name recognition has increased since she run for city court judge and her winning in court constantly has embarresed the Democrats.. Shame Shame guys..
Guess the Republicans get a taste of their own in that one.
Anon 9:10, back to the power again. The power issue was temporary, everyone knew it, and they lost it when the plant opened another pot line. Which created many good paying jobs. We need jobs, if there is extra power then so be it for small business.
Prison closures are still up in the air the task force has not even met yet. I believe her stance is the same as Addies when it comes to closures.
Plus the office is costing Senator Ritchie $2,520.85/year which includes heat, lights, power, custodial services. As a taxpayer I believe that is very reasonable rent.
As for DA Duve, time for a change. Nothing but botched trials, individuals getting their charges dropped (Robbery on S. Water St.), and the rest are plea bargained.
It may be reasonable, you are better informed than me on that issue.. My concern was the lack of communications with other landlords on any bidding.. Poly. Thats not right...
I will differ with you on the prison issue.. I feel I am better informed than you.. OCF is doomed and so is Dry Hill.. Nothing will reverse that decision..

What makes you so sure about OCF and Dry Hill. I have many friends that work in corrections and the word is not out. Everyone is still guessing even the legislators. The commission has not been established and the assembly and senate will have their budgets that will protect prisons and cut red tape to make up the difference. DOCS has close to a 2.5 billion dollar budget, I am sure they can find 100 million. I have spoke to all our legislators and they oppose appropriation bill s2800/a4000 that authorizes closures without notice.
The problem with the closures are they will occur after the budget is passed so the saving will not occur until next year. Putting the cart before the horse.
