Well, it appears the task force will have the final decision on the closure of prisons in NYS. At one point the Commissioner of Corrections had the final say on which prisons would be closed. I believe he would have the tendency to protect the prisons in NYC since he supervised those prisons before becoming Commissioner. The Commissioner works for the Governor and is ready to close prisons in a minute.
It was my understanding that the Commissioner of Corrections would be the chair of the task force. If that is a case it will be easy for him to mitigate the closures in NYC. Time will tell, and the pronouncement of the closures will be after the budget is passed. Like putting the cart before the horse. This may have major impact on certain legislative districts.

Not too much doubt it will be spread around the state.. Ive hard OCF, Dry Hill,, Three from thecity area and two small ones near Buffalo...
Actually OCF will close for reasons other than the inmate reduction and so will dry hill...
