Here we go again! What will it cost the County to hold this trial again. Mr. Oxley has petitioned the court to remove Judge Richards from the case. He claim multiple incidents of improper use of his power. Judge Richards guided the DA in the first trail, closed court, and made egregious mistake while presiding over the first Oxley trial...thus the first re-trial.
The County will need to raise some money to cover this $200K trial. Mr. Oxley has made too money since he has been out of jail to be eligible for a court appointed attorney. How they figured that is beyond me. With Galvin Regan as County Clerk he may be able to generate more income to cover the cost. Firing Mrs. Rupp may have been a bad career move. Good luck in the election!
One should also mention St. Lawrence County jail is generating some income by housing inmates from other jails. This brings in revenue that can and will offset the cost of the jail. In the days of the old jail we paid hundreds of thousand dollars housing our inmates in other county jails.

Make no mistake about the jail. It costs you money. If they board inmates from out of the County they have to have more personnel on duty and partimers become full time. You make money but its not all profit.

Gavin Regan is doing an excellent job in revamping the County Clerks office. And hes doing it without Mary L Rupp.. Let it go will you. Rupp would have done the identicle thing.. Ritchie could have protected her if she had wanted to but failed to even consider it. Thats what you get for accepting politcal jobs....
We cant afford to pay everyones attorneys. I cant figure why thats beyond you.. There is rules applied to income pertaining to public assistance and these lawyer things.. If thats beyond you change parties and vote Democrat
What a travesty this whole episode has been. Its been a comedy of errors since the beginning -- Sorry but i'm thinking we must have the most challenged court system in the state
As far as Mr Regan doing a good job HOW would we know he is still finding out where the men's room is located. That's moot anyway , the voters will decide in the fall NOT party hacks
Mr. Regan is doing a fine job. Theres a lot of people pissed because of the party appointment but why did no one cry when the Republican mayor just appointed his assistnant judge.
We just had an election. The people expressed that they wanted Bill Small first. A second place finish for Marcia Lamay.. But when Nelson made the appointment he didnt take into consideration Ms Lamays finish with the voters he did it politically.. This way Small will not be able to finish his term because of age but will name his sucessor until the next election which will be in ten years. Gebo will be able to get some pension time in courtesy of our mayor..

Yes we decide County Clerk in the fall but the decision has been made by appointment who your next city court judge will be......
Takes 11 ppl to run the jail per shift. They have employed 4 extra staff and have almost doubled capacity.
