| Matt, Ready to Make a Move |
Matt is gearing up for the 3rd time as he plans another run for New York's 23rd district. With the district lines still in question, will he be able to take Owen's Congressional Seat. He has money and many friends with deep pockets, which is a major criteria when running for political office.
Will he have an opposition from the Conservative Party this time?

Oh Boy! Oh Boy! Oh Boy! If he gets elected, maybe he'll invite some of us North country pooor folks to his island that he bought after his hedge funds tanked our retirement IRAs.
If we are really lucky, we'll get to mow the lawn or wash the windows while his big donor friends have a cocktails on the veranda.
I only wish this guy represented something other than money. Spending over two million of his own money last year to get a political office should let people know what this is all about.
He has shown his distain for law over the years with attitude towards officers doing their job and certainly showed distain for the American workers when he helped redesign an american Co. in Penns then let some five hundred go so he and others could reap in over six million dollars in bonus.. Thats what hes about.
Hopefully the Companies he destroyed will be mentioned during the election, (with evidence to support this claim) I'd rather see a 3rd party candiate involved and no cross-endorsements.

This guy was extremely sucessful on Wall St for years.. Nothing wrong with sucess it how you use it. With his millions he has bought every north country politican including our mayor Mr. Nelson.
He has bankrolled Pat Ritchie for way over one hundred thousand dollars for her help.
The truth about him came out some time ago when he laid off several workers on a business he saved in order to give he and his fellow wall st partners a very large six or seven million dollar bonus.
His claims about helping Northern NY are only lisened to by the likes of Watertown mayor Graham.. I feel that if he had the North Country sincerely at heart he might have considered moving his buisness North to us instead of over seas for the cheap labor ...
Of course he gets money rolled by the very rich.. They are opposing the law about the taxing the rich at the same rate we get taxed.. They prefer weakening the US labor market by destroying the unions and what they stand for....
He has lost his bid for this job the last three terms one of which he couldnt get the party to even give him the caniditacy..
In my eyes money is more than social status as this man wants. Its having some true feeling for the area you represent. Its having true compassion for the people you are supposed to represent..
Yep another EMPTY suit with $$$ who made it apparently by "Vulture" Capitalism .

Regular readers of this blog are aware that we have several Democratic operatives who fabricate their own facts to argue their cases. They hate correctional officers, Ogdensburg, mental health workers, and, of course, any Republicans they can smear. They made it very clear after most readers ignored their lies during the last election that they hope for nothing good for Ogdensburg and its residents.
They feel the same for Matt Doheny even though he's an Alex Bay native who was raised by his mom, worked his way through college and has been a real North Country success story. As always, they leave out a few key facts:
- He's running against a multimillionaire lawyer from Plattsburgh who seldom even remembers that St. Lawrence County exists.
- His opponent has supported every failed policy that has put Amerfica on the verge of bankruptcy.
- Matt made his company by taking FAILED companies and reorganizing them so they could succeed. Yes, sometimes you have to layoff some employees in a reorganization to save the company and preserve the jobs of the remaining employees. But if you don't make those kinds of tough decisions, everyone ends up losing ther jobs.
- A lot of Democrats just can't grasp that government and businesses need to live within their means during tough economic times.
Over the next several months, keep in mind that Matt will be regularly pilloried by these Democratic Part hacks who regularly demonstrate in their postings that they'll say anything and make up what ever facts they need to argue their cases.
So take their nonsensical claims with a lot of salt.
Matt is a good guy who actually knows where Ogdensburg is and will stand up for us if he's elected.
Don't let these out of town drop outs con you!
Nah listen to the Big Money Hacks instead who want you to believe that they have YOUR best interests in mind -- Why not be independent and THINK for yourself and to Hell with BOTH parties and ANYONE who spwends a fortune to get a job that pays less than he spends ( H'mm Must be a motive for that somewhere! wonder what it is ? wink wink >
Hell yeah both parties are screwed up neither has done ANY of justice Matt and his ilk wants to help the 1% er's and the Dems are equally flawed .with corporate bailouts and Benny and the Feds

Nice rant, with a lot of Republican talking points. Especially trying to pin the Bush Administration debacle on Owens.
We need a representative who will represent us, and not Wall Street. Follow the money, and see who supports Doheny, and you'll get your answer.

I'm glad to see someone is standing up to these Democratic Party hacks who keep trying to distract everyone from the fact that Bill Owens is a multimillionaire lawyer who has ignored Ogdensburg and St. Lawrence County and has demonstrated very little interest in the western end of the Congressional District, except for an occasional photo session with the troops at Fort Drum.
Matt Doheny grew up on the St. Lawrence River. He played hockey and football here. He knows what it's like to have to work your way through college. He worked summers in the Bay so he understands what our tourism industry needs and the importance of our Canadian visitors to our communities.
We need someone in Congress who understands our region, understands what it takes to succeed on your own merits and what is needed to get our economy moving again.
As I recall, the Democratic Party hacks made it very clear they wanted Ogdensburg to sink into a "fetid swamp" when the voters ignored their recommendations on who to support in the last election.
It's pretty clear they do not have Ogdensburg's best interests in mind.
Sounds like many Matt haters in the blog. I hope I never make it! I agree with 1:20 many liberal write on this blog. Too Bad.

Matt grew up on the St Lawrence River.. So what? How many times has he been to Ogdensburg and this area in the year and a half since the election.. Now that he wants to buy our vote hes ready to come here and be one of us and to do something for us.
Unfortunely Ritchie and Nelson have sold their soles to him for a few votes... Doug Hoffman would have done more for this area than Doheny and Owens combined.
When Nelson announces his interest in running this year watch the GOP locals and their hacks start on Owens and Addie and anything Democratic they can blast.
Nelson has a s much chance as Forsythe so I guess its his privilege..
Don't HATE anyone BUT will not vote for a Vulture Capitalist , Any Former Big Bankers or Auto Execs or wall St Greed Hogs who were bailed out at our expense or who profited on the Backs of others who were Layed off

Yah all.. Thats the correct thought... Layoffs are inevidible in a Millionaires mind.. If that company is doing reasonable well and going to have a three million dollar profit it better to lay some of the work force , half again the workload on the others and make eight million instead. Then take three million for yourself and the other five million to be shared with the other shareholders... Thats the Doheny way..
His intentions are clear. Break the unions, isolate the American workers and help out his freinds on Wall St so in the eend he makes more money at our expense.

By the way fellas, after all the flack and promises for election all the screaming and hollering and finger pointing Nelson won a d now the new council has fallen in line and will conduct business as usuall...Free houses for all.
