This boils down to the following
A. Gary Miles rush to judgment
B. Nicole Duve a weak prosecutor
C. Richards bias
D. Manning a vendetta against judge
E. Cops lied to make case stronger
F. Jury misconduct
G. DRUGS DRUGS DRUGS
For those of you who dabble with them you might be in the same boat someday

I agree totally but would add the following. We have a police dept that is incapable of protecting us . This is City Councils fault. This Council is more interested in fixing up houses and competing in the reality business. Fixing up abandoned buildings and competing with local landlords. Fixing up our riverfront to attract boaters who have money to spend at places like Remington. Cosmetics and magic.. The illussion of a town thats well off. While the city literally has been infested by drug dealers . Landlords have been allowed to let their buildings run down and decay yet jack up their rent to whatever they want. Its not safe on the streets at night anymore. Nightly cars are entered and robbed. People are getting homes entered everyday. Our city council is letting us down not the police... Council has been spinning shi- about the Rockerfeller laws but thats not the problem.. We need change and a lot of it..

Right 939. But that change has to occur at all levels of govt. Your bias to hold a council to task. Watch closely in syracuse shottings every night over drugs. I for one can not support anyone who is not tough on drugs. They infiltrate our lives in too many ways, all the for negative. Change needs to pushed and followed up by us the taxpayer.

How do we get really GOOD people to run for local office ? Thats the real problem . Ever heard of the "Peter Principle" ?? That's what's at work in our city council .Until that issue is solved i'm NOT optimistic about substantive quality of life improvement in Ogdensburg.

I can see your point 1132 but I dont live in Syracuse nor do I choose to. I live in Ogdensburg so I as a taxpayer of Ogdensburg NY hold our council accountable not the council of Syracuse or any other municipality. When you have a city Manager making a salary of over $100,000 plus bennies and a car to help govern and run the affairs of liss than 10.000 residents that way out of line. So to cut the budget they dont fill law enforcement jobs so they can pay this man its wrong. They and only they can vote on these issues. In this city the manager snaps his fingers and the council jumps. Whatever he or Justin Woods recommentds they get from this council. Right now there is a move on to dismiss the manager. Its got strong support from three councilors. Knowing the three amigos Nelson, Vaugh, Powers vote in unison most fo the time its not hard to figure out who will vote to fire him.. The suprising thing is the Councilor that everyone voted for because of his alledged dislike for ;the managers demeanor and Justin Woods personality with people is the one who dosnt have the balls to vote them out. Dannie Boy fell right in line instead of the brimstone and fire he had to change things... They did make some headway the other night in reinstating five positions but theres a long way to go... A citizens patrol manned with volunteers would certainly help.. Think about it...

Your all correct. However one thing to be pointed out. City council dosnt make police lie. Their lies, half truths, and just plain incompetence caused this mistrial. Hes not innocent by any means but the cops trying to take shortcuts did this.
The other I believe goes straight to council as you state. But how do you prevent it..

The proof is in the number of convictions in Ogdensburg. 3 murders (Tricky, Shannon, and Lawton) and still no clue. Hopefully they will come to something on the Lawton manslaughter charge.

Drugs have infested this little town. One of the few areas that offer an infrastructure conducive to drug dealers. Ogdensburg has lowest rents in the area, No jobs, St. Lawrence County DA soft on criminals, Judges that are soft on criminals, and a City council does nothing because the dems are doing away with the Rockefeller Drug Laws.
I for one is sick of this status quo, everyone concerned about the future and quality of life in ogd. should vote in each and every election.

8:14 You are right on target. This city has become the Dodge City of SLC. It is a cesspool of drug- addled crime . The politicians and MSM brought the problem on by dumping prisons and the prison camp followers in our city. The resultant fall out speaks for itself since that decision .

The entire political system in this city and county IS and has been WAY TOO SOFT , and FUZZY about crime IMO

The council, mayor and manager are always spinning happy talk rather than solving this quality of life and safety issue .

They need to be replaced by serious problem solvers .

This is not a NEW problem . There has been AMPLE TIME TO GET THE RESOLUTION OF THESE ISSUES UNDERWAY and take back this city from the criminal element .

The city leadership have neither the will or the strength of character to set tough goals and get the job done and to accept NO excuses from those who are charged with the responsibility.

THIS PROBLEM IS OUT OF CONTROL.
