Journal:DEC Passes Wood Boiler Regulations

It appears this regulation will prevent individuals from burning toxic materials in OWB (Outdoor Wood Boilers), extend the length of smokestack, and establish 100' setbacks.  What I do not understand how this has any significant impact on farmers.  Mr. Blankenbush attended the last meeting with the DEC Board.  He believes that this law will have a negative impact on farmers and plans on addressing this issue when sworn into the Assembly.

Mr. Blankenbush is becoming active in his new position, a must to ensure his re-election.  With two year terms in both the Assembly and Senate, freshman legislators are still vulnerable.  Two years makes it difficult to establish a record and we have two freshman legislators with their work cut out for them.

I,m not sure what impact any regulations on outdoor burning will have on farms and their owners. I do think the DEC should step up policing farms on their dumping policies.. You drive around through the Northern counties and you see endless dumps. Old cars farm machinery etc because farmers are aloowed to do these things. Its repulsive and it cant be good for the soil and air quality... Trouble is politicans up here dont have the balls to do the right thing.

Blankenbush is getting out and about but have not heard anything from our new Senator. Then again she run a campaign on not saying anything. She will have to make a move quick and stay in the lime light. If not Darrel will be back in 2 years to point out her lack of luster.

Look even tho i did not vote for her, give her a chance. IF she fails to meet our expectations then i hope we get someone BETTER than either she or Aubertine next time .

I hope she has the courage to tell Skelos and his downstate posse that screwed us all over last yr with the senate coup with Espada to go to BLAZES

She had her chance..Before she even got sworn in. The party she just attended for Skelos and the lobbist sold me one hundred percent on her.. She is one of a kind.. She won an election on silence and insinuation of change. Her appointments have all been politically motivated plus she hired a criminal to work with her.. What else will she pull out of her hat in the next two years.
Read the Journal today addition about Nelson and the OBPA split.. Thats nothing new.. OBPA has always aggresively sought industry and they are tired of Nelsons lackadasial approach.. Hes more interested in flowers and gardens and false images...

The GOP and the GOP run Ogdensburg council and their mayor have once again shown their true colors.. The Bridge and Port Authority wanted to spend some money to promote the four lane hwy and Nelson and his buddy from Black Lake voted against it causing a split with the Bridge Port Authority on Economic Developement. This is now twice Nelso ahs outwardly voted against promoting the highway. Once at a city council meeting he and Nick VAugh and Michael Powers voted against promoting the hwy and supporting the project . They were defeanted by the majority of council who voted to support it. A week later they voted for the projectt.... If its not a GOP ploy to make the local Democrats look bad and to assure that our congressman looks bad what might it be.. Anything else is pure ignorance.

It is my understanding that Nelson and Powers supported but would not vote until all the information was in on the 4 lane highway.

Powers was adamant about supporting the 4 lane highways, when I spoke to him. Nelson current vote does show a lack of support.

117.. Which side of his mouth was he adamant from. He has been probably the most inconsitant councilman we have. His values are hard to follow... He campaigned on not raising taxes but he has voted yes . He has made two major votes on the fourlane hwy for helping them advertise and lobby. He voted no twice. The Allison Chadwick affair he has not taken any stand yet and allows her till today not comply with our laws. He has missed several meetings during his tenure which I dont understand. Did he take the pay for was it deducted.. We pay taxes on a half empty prison in Ogdensburg so he can have a job and then he supports cutting the police dept for three years. He supported rehiring police this year however.. Nelson told him to.... He and Nick Vaugh need to be replaced period.
