WDT:Aubertine mathematically eliminated in 48th race

Congratulations Senator Ritchie

Patricia Ritchie our new NYS Senator, Congratulation, one of the very few to come from St. Lawrence County.  Darrel had turned his back on NNY and the voters spoke.  Senator Ritchie is entering the Senate with a tough fiscal budget ahead.  Hard decisions will have to be made but I am sure they will be made equally across the state...NYC not pulling jobs out of NNY.

The democrats showed they were still willing to distribute pork in times of economic shortcomings.  This was easier to accept when times were good and Senator Wright was in office.  The number one issue of this campaign was the economy and taxes.  Last year's budget was not balance at the end of session which will be added to the deficit next year.

Well, nothing Darrel will have to worry about.

This will be a tough year for any legislator. I believe we would of been much better represented by Senator Aubertine. He has many friends and understands the players. Aubertine has his shortcomings but has been playing the system for 8 years. Time will tell!

I have ZERO confidence that MUCH will change at all.

Lawnguyland and Downstate will dominate and dictate what will happen in the Senate .It;sthe same old song and dance -- 3 guys ALL FROM DOWNSTATE will be in the room to determine what area gets the goodies and who is gonna get the shaft - The other legislators won't be THERE -- they be told n' sold .

Care to guess where NNY will be in THAT scenario ?

Skelos and Co will tell em and sell em and Shelley and Cuomo 2.o will too

All I know is DArrel sold out NNY. He lost his way and he paid for it on election day. Even Jefferson County, his main stay disserted him.

I did fear NYC legislators much more than LI. How many more social programs can NYS afford.

Ritchie will be run by LI but her vote will make a difference. Stay the course. This will be a difficult year for all legislators.

IMO Her vote is next to meaningless or symbolic at best .The LI bloc is very strong and coupled with THE OTHER DOWNSTATERS in the leg they will be the straw that stirs the drink . NNY will be marginalized and tossed crumbs off the BIG table
