Journal:Judge Denies Motion To Dismiss Oxley's Charge

The murder trial continues...Judge Richards does not dismiss charges against Wayne Oxley Jr. The 2nd trial has not had the coverage the first trial did. Could this be due to the continual criminal activity that appears to have plagued our streets. Quality of Life in Ogdensburg appears to be dropping.  Many folks do not feel safe walking the streets at night. The last 5 - 10 years have brought drug dealers, sex offenders, armed robbery, and an influx of many transient individuals.

What is the future of Ogdensburg?  We have a beautiful spot on the St. Lawrence River but nothing to entice jobs to our area.  Therefore are young continue to leave and social services enrollment continues to grow.  These individuals receiving social services who get caught selling drugs should be prosecuted for welfare fraud.  This is done in other counties and could solve two problems if implemented in St. Lawrence County. The Democrats that controlled NYS government for the last 2 years have continually passed legislation to release inmates early. When the punishment is less than the crime it does not deter further criminal activities and puts everyone at risk.

I think this is the first case that went to trial this year. I just read they have dismissed a few trials due to lack of due process.
The DA's office had been remiss in their duties and that could be why so many dope heads walk the streets.

How do we elect Duve as DA when she had little to no experience. It appears the majority of voters decided a pretty face over an acting DA with many years experience.

Think before you pull the lever, wait now we darken in the circles. The voters get what they deserve, most elections become popularity contests. Therefore we never get the most qualified or most experience. We pay for incompetents with our tax money. That is why we are taking Oxley back to court at our expense.

Excellant Insights from the Blogger ! This issue is THE SINGLE MOST IMPORTANT key to the FUTURE of OGDENSBURG . This city is going downhill at an alarming rate . We are NO LONGER SAFE here .

This weeks invasion at gunpoint at the Stonefence is the LAST barrier !

The Thugs have taken over .

Politicians MUST get out of the SPIN / Talk all the time mode and take DECISIVE ACTION

We need effective law enforcement many levels -- Bring in the needed police leadership talent to employ techniques like CRIME/STAT and other proven techniques and deploy the force accordingly . I think the police do what they can but face many obstacles beyond their control . The leadership of the city NEEDS to wake up and re-allocate the necessary resources to SOLVE this problem

If police are currently unable to contain this because either they lack the resources or the courts lack the wherewithal to enforce, then we need to actively beef up in those areas .

Reallocate $$ from other lower priority items in the city budget . The Manager and Council NEEDS TO DELIVER on these goals or they should be replaced . Too much is at stake

Arresting someone and then getting a slap on the hand is a big problem in this county. Time to get tough on crime.

I never locked my doors in my house or my vehicles. Now I have to lock everything! If I leave my car unlocked they clean the change out of the ash tray.

If things get any worse I should leave my car door unlocked so they do not break the window to get 2 dollars in change. These people need to get a life or better yet get a job.
I am ready to get out of OGD.

What is the priority of the city council. They never seem to be on task. It seems to be tax increases and more fees.
They are going to raise our taxes again. Plus they are going to increase spending by another million dollars. When does it end.

IT ends When we elect people that we have the ability to think beyond maintenance of the status quo or special interests, and who have the COURAGE to set very HIGH EXPECTATIONS and hold ALL manager's responsible to a SIGMA SIX or other sophisticated and visible and transparent mode of accountability-and who seem NOT to favor short run style decisions that result in long term economic disadvantages in trying to ATTRACT Long standing private sector investment in our community .

This is a tough job and requires serious leadership skill , its not about being nice , its about being effective. Many have tried but few succeed because they soon get overly committed to POLITICS as usual and other low value activities .

AND finally when talented , bright and energetic people with PROVEN records of accomplishment get off their easy chairs and run for office -- THAT's when it ends

Till that day occurs : the song remains the same

Anybody here ready for that day ?
