Journal:Senate Approves Gay Marriage

Gay Marriages, Legal in NYS!
How important is the vote on gay marriages for the general population?  The vote on gay marriages appeared to have more coverage than the property tax cap, rent control, ethics, mandate relief, and a balanced budget.  Passing 33 to 29, New York becomes the largest state to pass gay marriage legislation.

Living in one of the most liberal states gay marriages was inevitable.  I have never been a supporter of gay marriage but supported civil commitment that offered the same rights as a marriage couple.  Life, Liberty, and the Pursuit of Happiness...and if that what makes individuals happy, so be it.

Governor Cumo Signed the bill into law just after the late night session, that was televised on YNN, making New York the 6th State to legalize gay marriage.  Once signed there is a 30 day wait before individuals can actually get married.

The tax cap is a disaster too they can get around pension costs by allowing borrowing ( long term debt) outside the cap .

Cant believe our Senator is contrary to equality to all people. Shes been a farce so far and I dont see any improvement in future.
The previous commentator says it all. All fun and games in ALbany.
Canton is also a joke.. Putney had a letter in the Advance news.. Blows hot air but thats all.. We dont need to know about medicade problems or any problems.. We elected you to give us solutions not press to enhance your agenda. St Hillare is full of press or hot air... Things they could do in todays paper.. Cut overtime, lay off, leave jobs vacant, dont take cars home et all..
YOU HAVE SAID THIS FOR FOUR YEARS.. PLEASE GIVE US A NEW LINE OF SHIT.... She has no solutions. Lay off if you can.. Start with road patrol.. If towns want extra protection hire their own cop like Norwood does.. Anything non mandated we dont need period...
Nichol and the GOP started this downfall back in early 2003 and the Democrats have kept it going downhill... TIME TO STEP UP GUYS.

By not voting for this marraige bill Ritchie has doomed some COS in her district. They will pay the price for her not breaking ranks with her party.

The north country is the most conservative part of the state. Gay marriage did not hurt Albertine and will be no effect on Ritchie.
