| We set the Standard of Education |
Basically, we have below average scores and it is due to the poverty stricken area we live in. I would like to congratulate Canton Central, Colton-Pierrepont Central, Morristown Central, and Potsdam Central for surpassing the State Average in % Level 3 & 4.
BOCES has a new six member instructional team and a new position of Assistant Superintendent that must add up to some dollars. The best part of this, it is available to those teachers that are interested. I wonder which ones will be interested? I would think this would be part of Professional Development and mandatory training.
I find it hard to believe moving 9 miles up the road to Morristown is a major change in poverty level. Maybe we should explore other explanations, students that do not get the basics in elementary school have little chance of getting it back later in high school. Ogdensburg has low scores in K-4 and a big dip around 5th grade.
Time to re-evaluate the process.

Give them all a raise and they will work harder. Little Billy will do so much better in school if we could just raise taxes again.
Teachers have a difficult job but they need to be supported by Administration. Support needs to come from Master teachers (Senior Teachers with proven records) to help and assist those teachers that are struggling.
Something is seriously wrong and the Administration needs to get the school system back on track.
Mr. Vernsey has a good handle on the situation and will do what needs to be done.
The Board of Education should be all over this and should be working with the administration to rectify the gaps in education.
Time to make the teachers accountable, wait teachers can not be evaluated on student scores, right or wrong?
Teachers can do no wrong. They're just better than us. We shoulcn't hold them accountable because teaching is a "special profession."
