Journal:St. Lawrence County betting on casino
A casino in St Lawrence County, Good or Bad? They bring money and jobs and what else.

You want an honest answer.. Like the prisions they have a dark side. Called prostitution, drugs undesireables moving into the area and other violent crimes. We said yes to these prisons years ago and now our ccmmunity pays the price. What happened to the proposed race track in Brasher.. What happened to the canadian business at commerce park.. Another dangerous boondoggle for the North Country.. ALex BAy is probably the place for this..That lets Ritchie get some credit even though its Mr Cole who has lobbied for it at his place on rt 12..
Casinos for years have been run by the mob. Its a sure bet in todays world that they still have a share of the influence on running them. I,m not sure I would choose to raise a family in an area filled with Prisons, pervert units, psyc. centers with State Police, border patrol imigration Sheriffs stopping traffic daily doing routine searches of cars and harrassing the passengers. This area at one time was full of promise but politicans like Dick Lockwood and Al Rishe couldnt see beyond institutions at that time. More than them I blame the Ogdensburg journal and Mr Kelly for not allowing debate to take place and hiding stories about these institutions from readers. Todays Ogdesnburg is what we got for allowing these things up here. Hope the spelling freak is reading tonight..
NO , no more social degradation needed here in SLC , we are the worst of the worst now with the damn prisons , pervs and druggies . NO More lowlives need come here ! This is proof positive that POLITICS of either stripe has RUINED this county . Look at what has been sold as ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT !!
Our politicians sold the area down the drain with these moves ! Stupid and shameful
Why would a casino come to a sh!thole like St. Lawrence County, anyway? If there is a casino in the north country, it will be in Alexandria Bay or closer to Plattsburgh.
